Stena Drilling had problems with low insulation resistance on transformers on board the rig Stena Don. In the field, Karsten Moholt cleaned, dried and insulation painted the transformer windings on the transformers with too low insulation resistance.
Enhanced Drilling needed do calculate the expected lifetime of their pumps. The pumps are barriers and were identified as critical equipment. Karsten Moholt 3D scanned the pumps and documented their current wear to be able to predict their future wear.
Karsten Moholt made a precise 3D scan of a motor casing at Oseberg Sør. Based on this, production drawings for a new motor casing were made. Karsten Moholt then produced a new motor casing and installed it on site.
Karsten Moholt converted the machines to an insulated bearing arrangement with a separate shaft grounding. This solution provided stronger insulation than coated bearings, and allows the use of standard bearings.
M/V Oceanic Sirius
Karsten Moholt 3D scanned hull plates at Statsraad Lehmkuhl that were due for replacement. Production drawings for new hull plates were made based on the scan. By using 3D scanning the measurements were made in approximately 10 % of the time compared to manual measurements.
AkerBP needs a solution for early error warnings without stopping the compressors in the Skarv field. By combining equipment data from the last seven years with predictive maintenance and machine learning, Karsten Moholt is developing a solution for deviation detection on the compressors.
