The vibration course was held for the crew at Stena Drilling The course combined theory and interactive tasks with Pruftechnik instruments. After completing the course, the participants had a good understanding of why we monitor the condition of rotating machinery (and other critical components), the importance of improved predictability and how vibrations can be properly measured and analysed to provide an early warning for a wide range of common errors.
Karsten Moholt received a 15 kW three-phase motor for overhaul. The motor was badly affected by water ingress and rust. The bearings and fan covers on the motor were changed and it was offshore-painted. The motor was tested and vibration control carried out before it was returned to the customer.
DOF receives electronic reports with maintenance recommendations from Karsten Moholt AS through our self-developed web reporting tool (My CBM). These reports are based on the actual condition of the equipment, which is detected through vibration measurements and analysis.
A ski lift engine at Myrkdalen Fjellheiser AS broke down on the first day of the seasonal holidays. Karsten Moholt diagnosed the motor in our workshop. The necessary parts were ordered with express delivery and the engine was repaired, assembled, tested and returned to the customer in 3 days.
